A Key To Resilience

Emotional Intelligence: A Key To Resilience

"He who is slow to anger is better than the mighty, and he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city." – Proverbs 16:32 (NKJV)

Resilience is not just about enduring hardships; it is about managing your emotions in the midst of them. Many think strength is in fighting back, proving a point, or reacting impulsively, but true strength is found in self-mastery.

Jesus, when falsely accused and mocked, did not let emotions dictate His response. He remained in control, discerning the moment and responding with wisdom. His emotional intelligence was not weakness; it was calculated power.

Emotional intelligence is about recognizing emotions without being controlled by them, responding with wisdom instead of reacting impulsively, and using emotions as a tool for growth, not destruction. You may not control what happens today, but you control how you respond. True resilience is built when you choose wisdom over emotion, pause before reacting, and allow God to guide your response.

Question: What is one way you will exercise emotional intelligence today?

My name is Coach Zibuse L Kunene. Let’s build resilience that stands strong in any storm.
